The Caring Workforce Training Program (CWTP)

Open to LA County workers impacted by COVID-19 and interested in working in the care industry and joining a home healthcare aid cooperative, including current registered care workers.


Provides best-in-class training, State registration, where needed, and assistance to transition into rewarding caregiving jobs and cooperatives.

Who Can Apply?

Eligibility

  • Low-wage workers, 18 or older
  • Makes $17.50/hour or less, or unemployed
  • Lives in LA County
  • Impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic
  • Required to attend full training schedule

What to Expect

Learn and Earn

Paid Instructional Training

  • Participants receive $22/hour during 72-hour hybrid instructional training 

 

  • Paid On-the-Job Training (OJT)
    Participants receive $22/hour during 72-hour on-the-job training

Hybrid Training

  • 9-week training in-person and online, on weekends.
  • Learn how to provide quality home healthcare & how to join/form a worker cooperative.
  • Languages: Tagalog, English & Spanish
  • Applications are done on a rolling basis.
