About Us

Pilipino Workers Center is a non-profit organization located in Historic Filipinotown, Los Angeles, but serves Filipinos throughout Southern California.

Our Mission

All people and communities have the right to a healthy, dignified quality of life. Yet so many immigrants are working in jobs that cannot meet their basic needs and living in unhealthy environments because they are isolated, disempowered, and overwhelmed by their daily struggle to work and put food on the table. They become victims of wage theft, human trafficking, occupational safety hazards, unhealthy lifestyles and their own despair. PWC focuses on providing programs that help meet the immediate needs of workers and their families while at the same time building their leadership to take collective action for long last change.

Pilipino Workers Center’s Goals

-To increase visibility for the issues of Filipinos, Filipino workers and workers of the Historic Filipinotown community.

-To be an innovator of services and programs that meets the needs of Filipino workers and their families and the diverse low-income population of Historic Filipinotown.

-To engage workers in advocacy campaigns to address issues affecting workers and their families, with an emphasis on domestic workers/ caregivers.

-To involve workers in leadership positions within the organization, in coalitions and in the larger community.

-To maintain a healthy organizational and financial infrastructure.

Together we make our lives better!
